Take Care Of Plagiarism While Publishing Children's Book
Writing and publishing the various genres is no more a difficult task today. If you are keen on publishing children's book then there is nothing much that you need. With the coming of electronic publishing solutions like desktop publishing where the drafting can be done in seconds, getting a final standard print of your children's book is no more a difficult task.
But amid the entire development one thing that has flourished by leaps and bounds is Plagiarism. Another name for plagiarism is stealing. As soon as you have written something, it has become your copyright. Nobody else can steal anything from it. The same holds true for something written by someone else. While publishing a children's book be careful that you do not take anything from anyone else's book even by mistake. If you fail to do so then you could be sued for plagiarism.
Be careful that you do not copy another writer's words or work otherwise it would be termed as a theft. If you want to quote something said or written by someone then do acknowledge the source. You must seek the permission of the publisher before you use anything from their work.
The copyright laws of the different countries differ. You must abide by the copyright law of your company and take care not to surpass it. Also, in some cases you may be required to pay a fee to use the words of an author. The same applies o the illustrations and pictures as well. If you are not good at illustrating then you may employ a professional illustrator to do the job for you. But, be sure that you do not end up placing an illustration or picture used in someone else's book. Often these illustrations and pictures are also copyright and using them without the publisher's permission could invite a lot of trouble. Therefore, be careful. Therefore, plagiarism and copyright are the two things that require careful observation and application. You have to be sure that your children's book is free of any kind of plagiarism and is completely copyright free. Publishing children's book is an interesting but a careful task and you must not forget that!
